We're going to be putting a big ol' robot on the Space Station. How amazingly cool is that? Of course, the article in the Houston Chronicle today also contains a bit of "As They See Us:""When you see it on the side of the space station, it will look like this giant hood ornament, and the station will never look the same again," said Rick Linnehan, the Endeavour astronaut who is slated to lead the three space walks required to assemble Dextre.
"It's pretty science fiction, really huge," said Linnehan. He's reminded of Gigantor, the animated star of a 1960's American television series that was inspired by the Japanese illustrator Mitsuteru Yokoyama.
